Patrick Cheng is a seasoned professional with over fifteen years of advisory experience in complex corporate restructuring and investment management operations with demonstrated abilities to effectively manage complex and deadline driven projects while consistently delivering results both meeting and exceeding stakeholders’ expectations.
His experience includes advising and representing parties in Chapter 11 restructuring and commercial litigation involving insolvencies. His experience includes providing financial and restructuring support to investment banking and legal professionals as well as management of the bankruptcy administration process. Mr. Cheng has significant experience assisting debtors with the preparation of cash collateral and debtor-in-possession financing budgets, preparation of Statements of Financial Affairs (SOFAs) and Schedules of Assets and Liabilities (SOALs), claims analysis and reconciliation, decision analysis concerning assumption and rejection of executory contracts and all other facets of the bankruptcy process.
Mr. Cheng is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, where he also holds a membership with the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.
Prior to joining Conway MacKenzie, Mr. Cheng served as a Director in the Corporate Rescue group of Xroads Solutions Group, LLC. He advised and represented debtors and unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 restructurings, which involved: negotiation and development of restructuring plans including recapitalization terms and valuation of reorganized debtors; management and consultation on bankruptcy filing preparation; interim management and assumption of senior management roles in financial reporting; development/assessment of enterprise valuation and the underlying drivers/financial forecast; analysis and development of cash flow projections; and management of periodic financial reporting mandated by bankruptcy court, US Trustee and various creditor constituencies.
Mr. Cheng also served as Senior Vice President/Manager in the Corporate Recovery group for Mesirow Financial Consulting where he represented debtors, secured creditors and unsecured creditors in out-of-court and Chapter 11 restructuring, advised management and key stakeholders in identify strategic and tactical objectives, and assisted management in the implementation of these objectives.
