Lauren Leach is a key member in Conway MacKenzie’s Real Estate industry vertical. She has more than a dozen years of experience in commercial real estate. Ms. Leach has been responsible for the overall workout strategy and client relationship of third-party managed portfolios, and specializes in distressed and troubled real-estate properties. She has spent significant time working on leases for both institutional assets and CMBS workouts, where she has actively negotiated over 8,000,000 square feet of leases with a value in excess of $410,000,000. She also specializes in court-appointed receiverships, retailer advisory, leasing matters, portfolio valuations and liquidations, and complex real estate negotiations.
Ms. Leach maintains professional affiliation with the International Council of Shopping Centers, The Woodward Society and CREW. She currently serves as Co-Chair for CREW Detroit Outreach, a committee tasked with planning outreach events to inspire, engage, and educate the next generation of women to pursue careers in commercial real estate. She is a board member of the Jewish Community Center of Metro Detroit which exists to build a dynamic Jewish community through world-class education and engagement opportunities throughout metro Detroit. Ms. Leach previously held a board position on the Birmingham Community House President’s Advisory Council where the mission is to foster philanthropy in the next generations; generating funds and support for The Community House youth programs and services, and help inspire and promote modern leadership and community opportunities.
Prior to joining Conway MacKenzie, Ms. Leach served as Director of Commercial Portfolio Management at McKinley, Inc. for eight years where she was responsible for a team of Asset Managers, handling the oversight of strategy creation and implementation, leasing, property management, client relations, and dispositions for a third-party portfolio valued in excess of $1 billion and totaled 21 million square feet. She also served as a leasing associate for Zifkin Realty and Development where she was responsible for 1.8 million square feet of retail leasing on behalf of landlords. She was also responsible for the creation of marketing strategies, leasing plans and negotiated LOI and lease documents. Ms. Leach also served as a brokerage associate at Next Realty Midwest, LLC. During her time, she researched, qualified, and analyzed properties for acquisitions and managed deal flow as well as transactional process associated with specific acquisitions of real estate.
