Jim Papageorgiou provides turnaround and crisis management, as well as litigation support services. Mr. Papageorgiou’s turnaround expertise includes assisting creditors and debtors through bankruptcy reorganization, out-of-court workouts and liquidation. He has worked with clients in various industries, including non-profit, real estate, manufacturing, telecommunications, transportation, consumer products, health care, retail, distribution and automotive.
Mr. Papageorgiou's litigation expertise includes analysis and quantification of economic damages in connection with accounting and insolvency matters, professional malpractice, breach of contract claims, lost profits, shareholder oppression, intellectual property disputes, loss of business enterprise value and contractual interference. He has also performed numerous business valuations used in connection with litigation. Mr. Papageorgiou provides expert testimony in depositions and in trial in State and Federal court cases and in arbitration.
Prior to joining Conway MacKenzie, Mr. Papageorgiou owned several businesses in the real estate and mortgage banking industries. He was also a Certified Public Accountant at Deloitte & Touche.
Mr. Papageorgiou is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified in Financial Forensics, Certified Fraud Examiner and a licensed real estate broker. He received his B.B.A. from Wayne State University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association. He also holds memberships in various professional organizations in the real estate industry.
