Michael Morton provides a full range of crisis management and turnaround consulting services to under-performing and financially troubled businesses, including interim management and debtor advisory, secured and unsecured lender advisory, merger and acquisition advisory, bankruptcy advisory, and debt restructuring and refinancing.
Mr. Morton performs strategic business, financial and operational analyses for the purpose of determining the viability of a business and developing a survival, sale or liquidation plan. His experience and expertise includes negotiating debt restructuring and reorganization solutions in both out-of-court and Chapter 11 settings.
Mr. Morton has extensive experience in the Energy Industry, particularly with companies operating in the upstream (E&P), oilfield services, construction, metals distribution and downstream segments of the market. In addition to his energy qualifications, Mr. Morton has prior experience working with companies operating in the following industries: Construction & Contracting, Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, and Technology among others.
He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds memberships with the American Bankruptcy Institute, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, and Turnaround Management Association.
Prior to joining Conway MacKenzie, Mr. Morton served as a Manager in the Assurance and Risk Advisory practice of KPMG, LLP., where he served clients in the energy, chemicals, manufacturing and industrial sectors. As part of his role, Mr. Morton assisted clients with analyzing and resolving accounting business matters related to debt and equity raising activities, debt restructuring and compliance, going concern assumptions, acquisitions and financial processes.
